Road Rules

Rules for Driving the Golf Cart

Where can I drive the golf cart?
Carts may be driven on roads with a posted speed limit of 25 MPH or under. Carts may not be driven on highways, bridges, boardwalks, or the beach, and should not be driven through standing water. Mississippi code requires slow moving vehicles to keep to the far-right side of the road at all times. See the city cart map for the city in which you are staying.

Can I drive the golf cart on the beach?
No. Our carts are not allowed on the beach.

Can I drive the golf cart at night?
Yes, all street legal carts may be driven in accordance with local and state laws at night. All carts have headlights, but remember the battery life of the vehicle will be lower when all lights and Bluetooth speakers are on.

Do I have to wear a seatbelt?
Yes, all carts have a seatbelt for each seat. Drivers or passengers not wearing a seatbelt may be ticketed.

Are car seats required for children? Do you provide them?
Yes — state law requires small children to be properly secured in a federally approved child safety seat, the same as in any car. Every passenger must have their own seat; no one may be held on another person’s lap, and all passengers must remain seated while the cart is moving. Note; We do not provide or install child seats.

Are pets allowed?
No, pets are not allowed in our golf carts. We love bringing our furry friends on vacation too but we ask that you leave them behind, for their own safety, when traveling in the vehicle.

Is smoking or drinking allowed in the carts?
No smoking of any kind in or near the carts. Operating any vehicle under the influence of alcohol or other substances is strictly prohibited and a violation of the law. Violations may result in immediate termination of the rental without refund.

Where can I park the golf cart? Do I have to pay for parking?
Golf carts are treated just like any other motor vehicle — park anywhere a car may legally park, and pay where parking is metered or paid. Some beach accesses have dedicated golf cart parking; if those are full, use a regular car space. You may not park on beaches, and you are responsible for any parking tickets you receive.

Will rain or water damage the golf cart?
The cart can be parked outside in the rain and can be rinsed off with a hose. However, driving in heavy rain or through deep water can cause damage to electric carts and can be life-threatening. Avoid driving through ANY standing water on the roads.

How do I keep the cart safe?
Keep the key with you at all times. Take the key or key card with you when you exit the cart and be sure to power the cart off.

What if I lose the key?
Do NOT lose a key or key card! There is a substantial charge for lost or stolen keys, key fobs, or key cards.
If you lose the key, call us at 601-909-5525, we will bring a replacement when possible.
